"Irid - to - Irid"
These pieces have had images sandblasted onto 2 layers of iridescent glass. The base layer is black iridescent glass and the top layer is blue to green cathedral iridescent glass. Once the image is chosen, it is drawn on resist paper with parts of the design to be sandblasted cut away. Both layers are then sandblasted, not in the same areas however. The resist paper is removed, the two layers of glass matched with the images facing each other, fused, then enhanced with gold paint and finally slumped.
